Accredited “hands-online” training for on-site implementation of the Passive House standard.
Emu is a small business with a big heart and hopefully bigger impact. We believe strongly in the power of community. One thing you will hear from us over and over again is that Passive House level building science goals are much more achievable with an integrated team of professionals. There is power in shared resources and shared knowledge, and that extends naturally to the responsibilities we are facing as a community in the developments around the coronavirus.
1. Learn all about Passive Building
Learn Passive House construction on your own time by joining one of our “Crews” through online learning, or join one of our in-person classes. You will learn about the most advanced construction standard in the world, and how to implement passive and net zero principles in your projects. You’ll learn everything necessary to become a Certified Passive House Tradesperson (CPHT) through the International Passivhaus Institute (PHI).
2. Get Hands-On in a Passive Pod Workshop
Apply your Passive House classroom education to Emu’s unique hands-on Passive Pod Workshop – with a focus on connecting research to reality. Builders are hands-on learners. A textbook and slide deck only go so far. At Emu, we’ve spent years developing a proprietary instruction tool that allows our student builders to get their hands on the products and methods we discuss in class, with the support of research-backed advanced building science.
3. Take the CPHT Exam
Strut your stuff by getting accredited through a PHI exam. Professional accreditation increases your credibility with clients and colleagues in the industry alike. After passing the exam, CPHTs are given membership and are listed in the database on the International Passive House Institute (PHI) website for 5 years.
