Who is this for?
This training is for building professionals who are concerned about implementing measures for moisture control, air sealing, thermal bridging, durability, and healthy air. Even if you are not intending to build certified Passive House buildings, the advanced building science in this course is applicable to any project seeking high performance and healthy indoor air quality.
What information does the course cover?
Click here to see a PREVIEW of the CPHT Course Outline in our Training Portal (new window will open). Students will have an opportunity to ask questions in live, online, weekly Q&A sessions about a wide range of products available on the market in a brand-neutral environment where science reigns and the goal is durability, resiliency, and affordability of construction.
How does this work?
Step 1: register here to join Emu’s Summer Crew, and then keep an eye on the mail for your printed slide deck (sent via USPS unless otherwise arranged)
Step 2: attend Orientation – a one hour (sometimes less) introduction to the course, your fellow students, and the Emu folks. We will go over what to expect and how to gain the most from your experience. Orientation for the Summer Crew is Thursday, July 23rd, 4pm, MST.
Step 3: Dive in! You will have on-demand access to the CPHT course for a year with your free membership to the Emu platform. The presentations are self-paced, meaning you control the speed of advancing the slides. Most students spend an hour or two on each unit. There are 10 units. As an estimate, consider that when we teach this course in person WITH the Units from the Passive Pod Workshop, it takes 4 full days. Some students can get through the entire on-demand content in 2 days. We recommend pacing yourself with the Summer Crew Live Q&A Sessions (see below). When you complete the on-demand course, as well as the sample exam questions, we will issue you a Certificate of Completion. This is not equivalent to the PHI Accreditation as a CPHT. Please see our page on PHI exam dates to add on a certification exam.
Step 4: Save the dates to attend our Summer Crew Live Online Q&A Sessions with Lead Trainer, Enrico Bonilauri. This is a huge value that we are currently including for free in the price of the on-demand registration. Many students find this the most valuable aspect of the course. Enrico will address questions submitted ahead of time on the platform, as well as new thoughts from the group. See below for the complete schedule. The Summer Crew will meet online on Thursdays and 4pm MST, starting with Orientation on July 23rd.
